Asia Lashae Bryant-Pelloni has Been arrested and charged with negligent vehicular homicide
A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on impaired driving charges in connection to a fatal five-vehicle crash that happened early Saturday morning in Glen Burnie, according to the Maryland State Police.
Police said the crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on the southbound side of I-97 at Route 32.
Through their preliminary investigation, police learned 30-year-old Asia Lashae Bryant-Pelloni was driver her Honda Accord north in the southbound lanes of I-97 when she hit a Ford Fiesta driving south on the same road.
A Honda CRV tried avoiding the crash by swerving out of the way, police said, but ended up hitting a Nissan Sentra.
Police said the fifth vehicle, a Cadillac SRX, hit debris from the initial crash.
The passenger in the Ford, 68-year-old Brian Mahaney, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Bryant-Pelloni was arrested at the scene, police said, and taken to the Glen Burnie Barrack for processing.
Police said Bryant-Pelloni was charged with negligent vehicular homicide while under the influence, vehicular homicide while impaired by alcohol, negligent vehicular manslaughter, and other related charges.
