Cameron Stokes and Brian Chevez Died in Newhall shooting 2023

The bodies of two males, one from Santa Clarita and the other from Valencia, both 16 years old, were discovered shot to death at an apartment complex pool in Newhall on Sunday.

According to the coroner’s office, Cameron Stokes was the child casualty and Brian Chevez was 25 years old.

Homicide Lt. Hugo Reynaga of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department informed reporters at the scene that authorities were alerted to a shooting at the Village Apartment Homes at 23700 Valle del Oro, just north of Newhall Avenue, at 10:50 on Saturday morning.

He claimed that witnesses saw a man fire shots while reaching over the pool fence and then sprint toward the parking area of the apartment building.

Minutes later, deputies arrested two young people after stopping a white car that matched the description provided by witnesses.
