Doug Boersma’s obituary and cause of death at Purdue University
As the director of strength and conditioning, nutrition, and sports psychology, Doug Boersma was in charge of making sure that the athletes on 18 Purdue Athletics teams were healthy physically and psychologically.
He has held a number of jobs within the athletics department, including senior associate athletics director, director of sports medicine, and assistant athletics director.
Boersma’s ability has been acknowledged by his peers, and he has been given the responsibility of managing the athletic department at Purdue University. Chris Boersma, a Purdue graduate who also holds the position of head football athletic trainer, director of sports medicine, and associate athletics director for sports performance, is also the head coach of the Bowling Green State Broncos.
