Morelia, Michoacan. The historic 27 from Morelia, the soccer player Omar Trujillo died this Thursday, apparently the victim of a heart attack.

The former Morelia mayor was training when he suddenly felt bad and was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, however, he died a few minutes later. Omar Trujillo was one of the historical players of Monarcas Morelia.

He was always passionate about soccer and especially the team he loved in which he was champion, he dreamed of the team returning to the forefront and was preparing to dive for an opportunity to return some of those joys to the fans.

The former teammate and exporter of Morelia, Moisés Muñoz, lamented the death of the former National team.

Soccer in Mexico is in grief once more as Omar Trujillo, a former player who won the 2000 championship with Monarcas Morelia, passed away on Thursday night. He passed away at 44 in his home in Michoacán from a massive heart attack.

Social media rumors about the football player’s passing spread, but it was former teammate and writer Moisés Muoz who provided official confirmation.

Omar Trujillo, the captain of Monarcas Morelia and a member of the national team, passed away today, sad news, rest in peace, my dear ‘Teco,’ he wrote in his message.
