Is Captain America’s New Shield Made Of Vibranium

The shield, a concave disk measuring 2.5 feet in diameter and weighing 12 pounds, was Captain America’s sole weapon.

It is constructed from an original Vibranium-metal alloy that has never been imitated. Dr. Myron MacLain, an American metallurgist hired by the American government to develop an impenetrable substance for use in tanks during World War II, cast the shield.

Because he was unable to pin down an element that was yet unknown but likely played a role in the process, MacLain was never able to replicate it. A few months after Captain America started his career, the government presented him with the shield.

Certain iconography has become so instantly recognizable throughout the history of Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe that it could be recognized by a complete stranger on the street.

There are several iconic items that evoke awe, including Thor’s hammer, T’Challa’s Panther Habit, Iron Man’s armor, and many more.
