She is best known for executing the vault despite an ankle injury and for being carried to the platform by her then-coach, Béla Károlyi. She was the winner of the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics as well. Besides gymnastics, Strug has also worked at the White House Office of Presidential Student Correspondence as a staff assist. She was a presidential appointee at Justice Department's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The American gymnast, who served as a correspondent for Yahoo! in the 2004 Summer Olympics, has also worked as a school teacher. She eventually joined the United States National Team and in 1992, her team won the bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics. In a 1994 event, she suffered from a bad injury that required extensive rehabilitation.
