Who was Paul Beasley?

Paul Joseph Beasley was born to Jesse Clarence Beasley and Lula Deal Beasley on June 12, 1950, in Terre Haute. He was a keen traveler and regular camper who wed Janice Marie Cooper Beasley on August 15, 1970, in Lewis, Indiana.

Paul joined the Mighty Clouds of Joy in the 1970s and appeared on numerous Albums before joining Word in the early 1980s. Paul, formerly of the Gospel Keynotes, is a legendary singer who has released numerous solo albums. As well as being a part of the group The 5 Blind Boys of Alabama, he was one of their members.

Paul has been performing for almost 50 years as a gospel musician. He has released more than 20 CDs and performed all around the globe for millions of fans.

Beasley became a member of the Gospel Keynotes in the early 1970s, and the group went on to record several gospels hits like “Won’t It Be Lovely There,” “No Way,” and “He’s My Rock, My Sword, and My Shield.”
