Mark Hamill is a self-described multi-talented American who works professionally as an actor, producer, director, soundtrack composer, writer, casting director, and is most known for his roles in the 1977 television series Star Wars, the book Boba Fett, and a number of other ventures.

He is also a well-known voice actor who has performed in a variety of animated movies, video games, and television shows, such as Batman: The Animated Series (1992–1998) and Spiderman (1994-2008).

Virginia Suzanne and William Thomas Hamill, a captain in the U.S. Navy, welcomed Mark Richard Hamill into the world on September 25, 1951, in Oakland, California. His siblings include four sisters—Terry, Jan, Jeanie, and Kim—and two brothers—Will and Patrick. He is one of seven children. His mother was a mixture of Swedish and English origin, while his father is of English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh heritage. As a devout Roman Catholic and “Nixon Republican,” Hamill has described his father.
