Obituary | Dr. Hany Youssef

At the age of 42, Dr. Hany Youssef passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, December 11, 2022. He was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, friend, and coworker.

Hany was born in Cairo, Egypt, and later moved as a young child to Canada. Prior to continuing on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Toronto, he completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Ottawa. Before becoming a staple of the anesthesiology department at the Brampton Civic Hospital, he practiced as an anesthesiologist at the North York General Hospital in Toronto and the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa. There, he worked tirelessly to enhance patient care and offer superior service to both his patients and his coworkers. Also, he completed a term.

He also held the position of president of the hospital’s Professional Staff Association for a while. His coworkers will recall him for the wild locks that protruded from his scrub cap, the voluminous green gowns he donned, and his burgundy alligator OR shoes.

On December 19, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, there will be visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr Street). On December 21, 2022, at 11 a.m., a funeral service will be performed in the chapel of the funeral home. The burial will take place in Ottawa at a later time.
