Obituary | Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Courson of Camden Passes Away

After a protracted and valiantly fought battle with MS, L. Jeffrey Courson, 65, of Camden, SC, formerly of Clarion, passed away early on Saturday, December 11, 2022 at Karesh Long Term Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Son of the late Louis E. and Christine Veneziano Courson, he was born in Erie on January 25, 1957.

Prior to relocating to South Carolina, he attended the First Baptist Church in Clarion and was a graduate of C-L High School.

He wed the former Robin Smith on December 5, 1981 at Kingsville United Methodist Church. She stays alive.

Jeff worked as a plumber his entire working life, initially as an apprentice to his father at Courson Plumbing and Heating and later as the company’s owner.

He is survived by his wife Robin, sons Jeffrey (Samantha Albrecht) and Ian (Erica) Courson, daughter Anna (CJ Ingram), grandchildren Rivers and Iris Christine Courson, brother Mark (Kelli) Courson, sisters Melody (Barry) Banner, Cheryl Courson, and Kimberly Courson, sister-in-law Gary Sanford, and 13 nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law.

He was also predeceased by his parents, his brothers Robert Wagner and George Courson, his sister Denise Sanford, his in-laws Pastor Craig and Bobi Smith and Dona Smith, as well as his brothers-in-law Craig and Scott Smith.

The Karesh Wing’s great personnel deserves a sincere “Thank You” from Jeff’s family for the superb care that he received while there.

The family requests memorial donations in Jeff’s honor be made to the Karesh Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center, 1311 Roberts St., Camden, SC 29020, in lieu of flowers.

On Friday, December 16, 2022, friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 PM and again from 1 to 3 PM. On December 17, 2022, at Furlong Funeral Home in Summerville, Pennsylvania (50 Broad St.).
