Phil was without a doubt one of the best musicians but more significantly, a lovely person

Today – I’m sad to impart – I discovered I’d lost my old soul mate, my music mentor and one of my oldest best friends since I was 18 years old; my dearest friend and former partner of eight years, Phil – the man, the myth, the legend. The man who shaped the Music in me. Or, as he said – the person who “always kept a part of his heart that was me”. I have no more words at this time other than to offer, my heartfelt and very deepest, sincerest condolences to his wife Helen, his children Holly and Sam, to their mother Amanda and to ALL my multiple music brothers and sisters and friends who knew Phil Spalding. Happy memories with now the late great wonderful Phil Spalding here with his Mike Oldfield band mate Mickey Simmonds, Tony Lowe and Mark Brzezicki when we were rehearsing for ESP Invisible Din in 2016.

Did anyone notice the amazing beautiful full moon we had in the UK this morning. I think Phil was being carried away by a Moonlight Shadow at this point.
