Samuel Micheal Clemons Burnt To Death, Emma Adams Arrested, University Of Missouri Student
Jefferson City native and Mizzou student Samuel Michael Clemons, 21, was identified as the person whose remains were found in a home in the 2400 block of Bentley Court on January 10.
This information was relayed to the Department yesterday. His relatives and friends have been showered with condolences, and his next of kin has been notified.
Human remains were discovered on January 10 at a property in the 2400 block of Bentley Court, and the Department was informed yesterday that they belong to Samuel Michael Clemons, a 21-year-old Jefferson City native and current University of Missouri student. We have informed his family and friends of his passing and offer our deepest sympathies to them.
On the evening of January 10th, at 5:30 p.m., officers from the University of Missouri Police Department were sent to Hudson Hall on campus to do a welfare check.
After conducting extensive research, the MUPD finally tracked down some unidentified human remains in the 2400 block of Bentley Court. There was something off about the way these bones were discovered.
The Columbia Police Department was called to the scene to assist with the homicide investigation after MUPD requested their presence. The police, detectives, and crime scene investigators of the Department were able to immediately narrow down the suspect pool.
Emma Adams, 20, of Columbia, was arrested for second-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence, and abandonment of a corpse after probable cause was developed for her arrest. After questioning, she was arrested. A definitive identification of the victim could not be made at the time because of the state the body was discovered in.
