Sanjeev Bhaskar OBE is a British actor, comedian, and television presenter.

He is best known for his appearances in the BBC Two sketch comedy series Goodness Gracious Me and for being the star of the sitcom The Kumars at No. 42.

Sanjeev Bhaskar is currently married to comedian Meera Syal. They tied the knot in a  marriage ceremony that took place in the Lichfield register office in January 2005.

Syal CBE FRSL is a British comedian, writer, playwright, singer, journalist, and actress. She rose to prominence as a member of the team that created Goodness Gracious Me. In addition, she is best known for portraying her husband’s grandmother, Ummi, in The Kumars at No. 42.

The couple has a son together named Shaan, who was born at the Portland Hospital on December 2, 2005. In addition, she has a daughter named Chameli, who resulted from a previous marriage to journalist Shekhar Bhatia in 1989.
