Brian Pope confirmed in a post on his Facebook timeline.
I’ve been sick to my stomach all afternoon since hearing about my old friend Dennis Washington. Dennis passed away today after a long bout with Leukemia. We worked together for many years at Fox6 and he was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. That’s him in the red shirt on our Miami trip and then in the purple shirt on our Arizona trip. We always made him and Alan Baker room together because they were the two worst snorers and we figured we’d let them fight it out 😂.
I’ve also attached a small part of a long encouraging note he sent me after I got laid off at Fox6. As I was reading it today I thought “dang he was 100% right. It took almost exactly 5 years but I’m in a great place now.”
That’s who he was though. One of the most positive people I’ve ever met.
Numerous tributes poured in since the sudden demise of Dennis Washington, Social media users could not hide their shock at his death news.
