What happened with Greg Norman and Chris Evert? Secret divorce explained
Greg Norman of Australia and Chris Evert, a former tennis champion and his wife of 18 months, made their separation public by filing for a covert divorce in a remote Florida court.
What happened with Greg Norman and Chris Evert?
According to Australian Associated Press, the couple, who divorced in September of last year, stated in a court statement that their brief 18-month marriage was “irretrievably destroyed” (AAP).
Given that Norman and Evert had a pre-nuptial agreement in place before their June 28, 2008, high-security marriage in the Bahamas, it did not include an expensive asset division in their second divorce in less than two years.
Laura Andrassy, Norman’s ex-wife, won $103 million at the conclusion of their acrimonious divorce from the former golfing world number one.
According to AAP, the pre-nuptial agreement was negotiated just weeks before Norman and Evert’s wedding, and the Palm Beach Post stated “there was no exchange of money between Norman and Evert.”
