Early life
Anderson’s family later relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia, despite the fact that he was born in Sacramento, California.
Mark, his father, is an orthopaedic surgeon and radiology professor at the University of Virginia.

McFarland became the lead guitarist for the group, and Sparky’s Flaw put out two independent EPs. [9] Later, they decided to go by the band name Parachute. [10] During Anderson’s third year of college in 2007, Parachute performed a great deal of on-campus[11] and were subsequently signed to Mercury Records.
Since 2009, Parachute has put out five albums. They’ve shared the stage alongside Switchfoot, Kelly Clarkson, NEEDTOBREATHE, Jon McLaughlin, The Script, Mat Kearney, and The Goo Goo Dolls, among others.
Influences
Ben Folds Five, John Mayer, and the Dave Matthews Band were among Anderson’s favorite musicians when he was a teenager “In all honesty, I believe that Dave Matthews Band is largely to blame for our shared desire to form a band. When we first started working together, they were enormous.”
The first albums he ever purchased were Cake’s Motorcade of Generosity and No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom.
His top four songwriter influences are Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder, whom he refers to as “great singer-songwriters.” Sam Cooke is considered as his all-time favorite performer.
From 2010 until 2016, Anderson resided in Nashville, Tennessee.
